Nintendo got better with the Wii U, but still loses money…
I don’t get it either, Mario Kart 8 was a good hit for the Wii U, but I guess it wasn’t much of a console seller, but another game for Wii U owners. I’m not going to lie, but I do enjoy Mario Kart 8. Yet, Nintendo loses $97.2 million in the yearly quarter ending June 30, this is the latest batch of quarterly results. However, Nintendo still expects to hits it target of 3.6 million units sold for this fiscal year. I know a lot of people are asking about dropping the price down for the Wii U, but that will make them lose more money. Remember when they first launch the Nintendo 3DS for $249.99 and then drop it to $169.99? They even said they lost money for doing that, but hey the 3DS is still a big hit with the games they have now and later including the downloadable games. Oh yeah, I will agree that they need third-party games from other companies. It can’t be Nintendo’s fault entirely.
Sony is Giving Away Games and Money Again after 2011 Hack!
Remember that dreadful day where PlayStation Network was hack for almost a month and we couldn’t get online at all, then they got it back online and gave us two free game and a month of PlayStation Plus subscription? Now they are doing it again. Here are the highlights:
Claimants in the case who didn’t get anything from the Welcome Back campaign Sony ran back in 2011 (but who were active PSN account holders at the time) are able to choose two of the following three freebies: a free PS3 or PSP game (from an as-yet unseen list), some PS3 themes or three free months of PlayStation Plus.
These claims are only on a first-come, first-served basis. Once Sony has given out $6 million of games/themes/subs to those folks, the deal is off, and anyone still after something will get month’s free PS Plus.
If you did get a free game from the Welcome Back campaign, you can choose one of the above options (game, themes or 3 months of PS Plus) instead of two. That offer is also capped, this time at $4,000,000, with the same one-month PS Plus deal available to anyone who misses out.
Anyone with an active account who lost unused PlayStation Store credits will, if their balance was above $2, get that money back.
If you were a Netflix or Hulu Plus subscriber who couldn’t access their account, you’re eligible for three free months of PlayStation Plus.
Anyone able to prove they had their identity stolen as a result of the hacks that caused the downtime is eligible for up to $2500.
The Falcon is the new Captain America (Non-gaming)
No, Sam Wilson(Falcon) is not the first Black Captain America Isaiah Bradley, shown in the comic book a decade ago, was a fellow US soldier that was in the Super Soldier program. Marvel’s Joe Quesada has revealed on The Colbert Report that Steve Rogers, Captain America, will pass down his suit and shield to the Falcon in the upcoming comic book.
Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U Roster will not fully revealed by CoroCoro
Earlier this month, the website said they were going to announced all characters for Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U and all the stages. Now they just updated and said they are only announcing the characters and stages that has already announced so far. That was a big let down.
Why isn’t Kingdom Hearts X[chi] out in North America?
As you may know, Kingdom Hearts X[chi] is a web browser game only for Japan. This take place during the Great Keyblade War. You can play as your own keyblade wielder. Again, this is only a game for Japan, if it was in America buy now I would not making this post right now a go on and play the heck out of this game! But, there is hope, from Siliconera, they spoke to a source saying they are on track of localization and Disney was going to release it, but plan was change because of Playdom was closed this year. That doesn’t stop there, they said that from another source said that Square Enix has been shopping the game around to other publishers since they don’t have a network in the West that works like Japan.
